Serious Injury Crash Closes SE Hawthorne Boulevard

On May 19, 2021, at about 2:24 a.m., Portland Police responded to a one car crash near Southeast 11th Avenue and Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard. A car crashed into a utility pole on the north side of Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard.
Four people have been transported by ambulance to hospitals. Officers at the scene describe this as a serious injury crash.
Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard is closed between Southeast 9th Avenue and Southeast 12th Avenue. Traffic in the area will be impacted during the crash investigation for the next couple hours.
