Shooting in Hazelwood Neighborhood, One Injured

An adult male victim is in the hospital after a shooting in the Hazelwood Neighborhood.

On Friday, May 28, 2021 at 3:47p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a report of someone shot at an apartment complex in the 12000 block of Southeast Ash Street. When they arrived they located a victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the arm. He was transported to a hospital by ambulance with an injury that is not believed to be life threatening.

Officers received information about a possible suspect vehicle leaving the scene in a vehicle. A vehicle was stopped and one person was detained for further investigation, although the shooting suspect is not believed to be in custody.

The Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) is on scene to investigate. If anyone has information about this shooting, please e-mail crimetips@portlandoregon.gov and reference case number 21-144201.
