Shooting Victim Identified, Homicide Detectives Investigating

Portland Police Homicide Detectives have released information about a shooting that occurred on Saturday near Southeast 132nd Avenue and Southeast Center Street.

The victim in that case is 40-year-old Darren Lockett. The medical examiner determined Mr. Lockett died of a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.

Any additional information will be released at the direction of the investigators.

A shooting victim died after being transported to the hospital, and Homicide detectives are investigating.

On Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 1:05a.m., East Precinct officers responded to a report of someone shot in the street near Southeast 132nd Avenue and Southeast Center Street. When officers arrived, they located an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics responded and transported the victim to the hospital, where he later died.
