Montavilla Neighborhood Homicide Victim Identified (Photo)

The victim in this case has been identified as 36-year-old William Kendrick. An autopsy by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office determined that his death was a homicide by gunshot.

A man died at the hospital after a shooting in the Montavilla Neighborhood.

On Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10:24p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a report that a patient with apparent gunshot wounds had arrived at a hospital in the 4800 block of Northeast Glisan Street. Officers learned the patient, an adult male, was being transported to another hospital by ambulance due to the severity of his injuries. After lengthy lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, the patient died.

Officers located a crime scene in the 7400 block of Northeast Glisan Street, which they believe is connected. They secured the crime scene.
