The Portland Police Bureau's Gang Enforcement Team has made an arrest in the July 12, 2012 gang-related shooting near Peninsula Park.

20-year-old Teondre Bonner was arrested on Thursday August 2, at approximately 11:00 p.m. at a motel in Lacey, Washington by the multi-agency Thurston County SWAT Team. Arrest warrants were issued for Bonner on charges of Attempted Murder and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Bonner was booked into the Thurston County Jail and will await extradition to Oregon.

On Friday August 3, investigators served search warrants at two locations in Portland and one location in Washington County in connection with this investigation. The addresses searched were 919 Southeast 162nd Avenue, 1534 Northeast 86th Avenue and 6800 Southwest Scholls Ferry Road, Apt #40.

This investigation started on Thursday July 12, 2012, at 4:12 p.m., when Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct and the Gang Enforcement Team responded to the report of two males shooting into a residence at North Rosa Parks Way and Borthwick Avenue. Officers learned that the suspects ran into the Peninsula Park Community Center before fleeing the area. Nobody was injured during the shooting and officers worked with Portland Parks & Recreation staff to safely evacuate the community center and search the building.

The Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team would like to thank the following agencies and units for their assistance in this case:

The Lacey (WA) Police Department; the Thurston County SWAT Team; the Washington County (OR) Tactical Negotiations Team (TNT); the Portland Police Bureau's Gun Task Force (GTF), Drugs and Vice Division (DVD) and North Precinct Neighborhood Response Team (NRT); and, Portland Parks & Recreation.
