Police Seek Witnesses To Downtown Shooting This Morning

On August 19, 2021 at about 8:39 a.m., Portland Police officers responded to the report of a shooting near SW Broadway and SW Pine Street. When officers arrived they found victim with an apparent gunshot wound. Officers directed medical personnel to the victim who was transported to the hospital by ambulance with what appear to be serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Officers secured the crime scene to preserve evidence and attempt to find witnesses. Officers searched the area for a suspect, who fled before police arrived.

The Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) responded to the scene. This is an ongoing investigation and any additional information will be released at the direction of ECST.
