Chief Lovell Announces New Appointments and Promotions (Photo)

Chief Chuck Lovell has announced he has selected Assistant Chief Mike Frome, who currently oversees the Services Branch, as the new Deputy Chief. Assistant Chief Mike Leasure who currently oversees the Operations Branch will transfer to Assistant Chief of Services Branch. North Precinct Commander Brian Ossenkop, a 26-year veteran, will be appointed to Assistant Chief Operations.

Chief Lovell also announced the promotion of Commanders: Captain Tina Jones, currently assigned to North Precinct, will be promoted to Commander and remain at North Precinct. Captain Tim Robinson, currently assigned to East Precinct, will be promoted to Commander and assigned to the Detective Division. Commander Jeff Bell, currently assigned to Detectives will be transferred to the Professional Standards Division. The Bureau members being promoted or appointed will be sworn in on Thursday, September 2, 2021.

"Assistant Chief Mike Frome brings a wealth of knowledge to this position," said Chief Chuck Lovell. "As the Services Branch Assistant Chief he has been overseeing our budget, training and personnel. Prior to that, he served as the Assistant Chief of Operations, giving him a well-rounded perspective. He will be able to step into the role of Deputy Chief smoothly during this time of great organizational challenge and critical staffing shortage facing PPB."
