UPDATE: Woman Critically Injured in Crash has Died (Photo)

A woman critically injured on Friday evening in a crash on I-84 over Northeast 122nd Avenue died of her injures after being transported to a local hospital. She is identified as 37-year-old Carrie Lynn Simons. Simons' family has been notified of her death.

A critical injury crash has closed I-84 westbound at Northeast 122nd Avenue.

On Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:36p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a crash on westbound I-84 at Northeast 122nd Avenue. They learned an adult female was critically injured. She was transported to a hospital by ambulance. Her injuries are considered life threatening.

Preliminary information is the injured person had been driving a car involved in a crash, got out of her car, and was struck by a 2 vehicles.

Due to the seriousness of injuries, the Portland Police Major Crash Team responded and is investigating. During the investigation, I-84 westbound is closed at Northeast 181st Avenue.
