David Sanders was found shot, and transported to the hospital, where he died.
The man found shot in the Wilkes Neighborhood is identified as David Sanders, 32. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Officer determined his cause and manner of death to be homicide by gunshot wound. David Sanders’ family has been notified, and they provided the attached picture for public release.

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 10:04 p.m., officers from the East Precinct were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the area of the 1300 block of Northeast 162nd Avenue. When officers arrived they found an adult male victim who appeared to have been shot. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died. The victim's identity, as well as cause and manner of death, will be determined by the Oregon State Medical Examiner.
The suspect or suspects left the scene and have not been located.
During the investigation, Northeast 162nd Avenue will be closed from Northeast Halsey Street to Northeast Wasco Street.
