On Sunday January 6, 2013, the Portland Police Bureau will host the 4th Annual Z-Man Wrestling Tournament at Liberty High School, located at 21945 NW Wagon Way in Hillsboro.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the presentation of the colors by the Portland Police Highland Guard.

Media is invited and encouraged to attend.

Legendary Peninsula Wrestling Coach Roy Pittman will address the wrestlers and spectators and emphasize the theme of the day: "Cops, Kids and Community Making a Difference Together."

This national-level tournament already has nearly 700 pre-registered wrestlers.

There will be dozens of uniformed police officers, firefighters and National Guard soldiers volunteering their time to staff the event.

Captain Chris Uehara of the Youth Services Division will be at the tournament for interviews with interested media.

The Z-Man Wrestling Tournament is named after Portland Police Officer Mark Zylawy, who was killed off-duty on January 27, 2008. After his death, friends and fellow officers created the Z-Man Scholarship Foundation to offer scholarships to deserving students who have a commitment to community involvement.
