UPDATE - ARREST: Portland Police Investigating Non-Injury Shooting Overnight in Southeast Portland

Today, Tuesday January 8, 2013, Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau's Gang Enforcement Team arrested 26-year-old Robert Earl Randle in connection with a non-injury shooting that occurred on January 5, 2013.

Through the investigation, detectives learned of Randle's identity and that the shooting was related to domestic violence rather than gang violence. A handgun was recovered at the scene on the night of the shooting.

Randle was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing (Domestic Violence) and Discharging a Firearm in the City. He will be arraigned on Wednesday.

On Saturday January 5, 2013, just before 10:00 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 3200 block of Southeast 122nd Avenue on the call of a disturbance.

Officers arrived in the area and saw several people fighting. Offices then heard a gunshot being fired and the crowd ran away in different directions.

Officers at the scene called for "code three cover" (immediate response) and worked to set up containment in the neighborhood. Several people were contacted by officers and nobody was found to have any gunshots wounds.

Based on information learned at the scene, Gang Enforcement Team detectives responded to further the investigation.

No arrests have been made and it is not known who fired the shot during the disturbance.
