Mt. Scott-Arleta Neighborhood Homicide Victim Identified (Photo)

The man killed in the Mt. Scott-Arleta Neighborhood is identified as Daquan Taeshawn James Turner, 27, of Portland. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Officer determined his cause and manner of death to be homicide by gunshot wound. Daquan’s family has been notified, and they provided the attached picture for public release.

Homicide Detectives booked Borissean T. Washington, 26, of Portland, into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Manslaughter in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The victim will be identified when an autopsy is completed by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's office and the victim's family is notified.

No additional information is being released at this time. The incident remains under investigation, and investigators still hope to talk to witnesses. A man is deceased after a shooting in the Mt. Scott-Arleta Neighborhood.

On Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 2:08a.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of someone shot at outside a bar in the 8000 block of Southeast Foster Road. When they arrived they located an adult male victim who was deceased.

Officers secured the scene and the Portland Police Bureau Homicide Unit responded to investigate. They believe some witnesses may have left the scene without speaking to police.
