UPDATE: St. Johns Neighborhood Homicide Victim Identified (Photo)

The man found deceased after a shooting in the St. Johns Neighborhood is identified as 30-year-old Zachary Steven Moore. The Medical Examiner’s Office determined his manner and cause of death to be homicide by gunshot wound. Moore’s family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release.

On February 16, 2022, at 12:20 a.m., officers from the North Precinct responded to a shooting call near the intersection of North Mohawk Avenue and North Fessenden Street. When officers arrived they located a male victim who was deceased.

A person involved in the shooting remained at the scene and is cooperating. At this time, police are not looking for any suspects and there is no threat to the community.

Portland Police Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate. Streets in the area were closed during the investigation but are now open.

The identity of the victim, as well as cause and manner of death will be determined by the Oregon State Medical Examiner. Additional information will be released at the direction of investigators.
