UPDATE: Identity of Motorcycle Driver Killed in NE Portland Crash Released

The driver involved in this crash has been identified as 43-year-old David N. Wickham. His family has been notified of his death.

Despite extensive lifesaving efforts by hospital personnel, the rider involved in the crash has died. His family has been notified of his death. He will be identified after family has had time to make notifications to loved ones.

The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation and the Portland Police Bureau is asking that anyone who witnessed the crash but has not been interviewed by investigators please contact crimetips@portlandoregon.gov, attention Traffic Investigations Unit, and reference case number 22-43982, or call (503)823-2103.

This is the 12th fatal crash in the City of Portland this year, and the second involving a motorcycle this month.

A motorcyclist has serious, life-threatening injuries after a crash in the Montavilla Neighborhood.

On Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 9:45a.m., East Precinct officers responded to a report of a crash at Northeast Glisan Street and Northeast 87th Avenue. When officers arrived they found a motorcyclist had crashed. The rider, an adult male, was transported to the hospital with serious, life threatening injuries. He is not being identified at this time.

The Portland Police Major Crash Team responding to investigate. During the investigation, Northeast Glisan Street was closed, but has since been reopened.
