Crash In Old Town Results in Serious Injury (Photo)

A 2-car crash in the Old Town Neighborhood has left one man with serious, life threatening injuries, resulting in a Major Crash Team callout.

On Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 3:01a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to a report of a crash at Northwest 2nd Avenue and Northwest Everett Street. When they arrived they discovered a 2-car crash. The driver of one vehicle, an adult male, was unconscious. Portland Fire and Rescue and AMR paramedics extricated the patient and transported him to the hospital. His injuries are considered life threatening. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle, which was a taxi.

The other driver remained at the scene and was not seriously injured. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance as a precaution. The adult female was the only occupant of her vehicle.

Due to the serious injury, the Portland Police Major Crash Team responded and is investigating. During the investigation, Northwest 2nd Avenue is closed between Northwest Davis Street and Northwest Flanders Street. Northwest Everett Street is closed between Northwest 1st Avenue and Northwest 2nd Avenue.

The Portland Police Bureau is asking that anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the crash but has not been interviewed by investigators please contact crimetips@portlandoregon.gov , attention Traffic Investigations Unit, and reference case number 22-64703, or call (503)823-2103.

The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
