The person found deceased after a shooting in the Buckman Neighborhood is identified as 40-year-old Michael Paul Fitch. His family has been notified of his death, and they provided the attached photograph for public release. The family is requests privacy.

A person is deceased after a shooting in the Buckman Neighborhood.

On Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 7:18a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of Southeast Washington Street. They located a victim deceased on the sidewalk. The victim is believed to be an adult male but his identity has not been confirmed.

The suspect left the scene before police arrived and no arrests were immediately made.

Portland Police Homicide Unit Detectives are on scene to investigate. During the investigation, Southeast Washington Street and Southeast Alder Street are closed between Southeast 7th Avenue and Southeast 9th Avenue. Southeast 8th Avenue is closed between Southeast Sandy Boulevard and Southeast Morrison Street.
