CORRECTION: Shooting Investigation Becomes Homicide Investigation (Photo)

CORRECTION: The age and spelling of the victim's name was incorrect in the original press release. The Bureau regrets the errors.

On March 16, 2022, North Precinct Officers were dispatched to a shooting call under Northeast Cesar E Chavez Boulevard near Northeast Halsey Street. When officers arrived, they located a man who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. Although medical professionals' life-saving efforts were successful for an extended period of time, the victim has now succumbed to his injuries. This shooting investigation is now a homicide investigation.

The victim in this case is identified as 31-year-old Zackary Joel Harris. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office has determined Harris' manner and cause of death to be homicide by gunshot wound. Harris' family has been notified of his death, and they have provided the attached picture for public release.
