PPB Detectives Charge Suspect with 2021 Homicide in NW Portland

PPB Homicide Detectives have identified the suspect involved in the deadly shooting on September 24, 2021, at a pizza restaurant in the 500 Block of Northwest 21st Avenue. The shooting killed 34-year-old Jacob Knight-Vasquez and injured two others.

The suspect is identified as 25-year-old Marshawn Edwards. Homicide Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Edwards for Murder in the Second Degree, Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. On Monday, March 28, 2022, members of the United States Marshal’s Service located and arrested Edwards in Fairview, Oregon and he was lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center.
