The victim in Monday’s homicide has been identified as 19-year-old Amara Marluke. Amara’s family has been notified and provided a photo for media release. The family is requesting privacy at this time and does not want media contact.
The Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined Marluke died from gunshot wounds and ruled her death a homicide.

The suspect in this Portland homicide has been arrested in Bend, Oregon.
The suspect in this deadly shooting is identified as 20-year-old Keenan Harpole. Harpole was safely taken into custody in the 55000 Block of Homestead Way, Bend, after agreeing to turn himself in to authorities. Members of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office arrested Harpole and transported him back to Portland, where he was released to Portland Police Bureau Homicide Detectives.
Harpole will be booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on the charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The name of the victim will be released after the Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office determines cause and manner of death, and after her family has been notified.

On Monday, April 4, 2022, at 1:00 a.m., officers from the Central Precinct were dispatched to a report of a shooting near Southwest College Street and Southwest 6th Avenue. When officers arrived they located an adult female who was deceased.

During the investigation, Southwest College Street is closed between Southwest 6th Avenue and Southwest Broadway. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
