UPDATE: Public Assistance Requested in Fatal Hit and Run Investigation, Victim Identified (Photo)

The Portland Police Bureau is requesting assistance from the public on its investigation into a fatal hit and run about 3 weeks ago.

On the evening of Monday, April 4th, 2022, a pedestrian was attempting to cross Southeast Powell Boulevard in the 4600 block when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle. The victim, identified as Angela C. Boyd, 47, of Portland, did not survive her injuries. Family has been notified of her death.

The involved driver fled the scene eastbound on Southeast Powell Boulevard and has not been located. Physical evidence found at the scene and surveillance video indicate the suspect vehicle is a late model dark gray Subaru Impreza/Crosstrek with a roof top carrier and black wheels. The suspect vehicle had extensive front end damage.

On April 4, 2022, at 10:24 p.m., officers from the East Precinct were dispatched to the area of Southeast Powell Boulevard and Southeast 47th Avenue on the report of a hit and run to a pedestrian. Medical personnel were initially dispatched and found the female pedestrian deceased; they then requested the Portland Police Bureau. Officers identified and taped off the crime scene, and the Major Crash Team responded to assume control of the investigation.

Southeast Powell Boulevard will be closed from Southeast 45th Avenue to Southeast 49th Avenue while the investigation continues.

The driver of the vehicle which hit the pedestrians did not stay at the scene, and their identity is unknown at this time.
