Juvenile Victim in the Centennial Neighborhood Homicide Identified

The deceased person in this homicide has been identified as 17-year-old La’Marcus Brazile.

The Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide and family has been notified.

The ages of the other juveniles who were injured were 14, 15 and 16.

On Sunday, April 17, 2022, at 8:43 p.m., officers from the East Precinct were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 500 block of Southeast 162nd Avenue. When officers arrived they located a male who was deceased and three juvenile males who had also been shot. The three surviving victims were transported to area hospitals; one with life-threatening injuries and the other two with non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation the Southeast 162nd Avenue is closed from Southeast Start Street to Southeast Alder Street. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
