UPDATE: Name of St. Johns Homicide Victim Released (Photo)

The victim of the St. Johns homicide is identified as Charles M. Edwards, Sr, 62, of Portland. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release.

The medical examiner determined the manner and cause of death was homicide by gunshot. This is still an active investigation and no further information is being released. One male is deceased after a shooting in the St. Johns Neighborhood.

On Friday, May 27, 2022, at 6:03a.m., North Precinct officers responded to a report of a male deceased in a home in the 7100 block of North Columbia Boulevard. When officers arrived they found the victim deceased.

There is no suspect information available for release and no arrests have been made at this time.

The Portland Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is investigating. Detectives are working to determine what took place and are asking anyone with information to reach out to them.
