The Portland Police Bureau Robbery Detail is asking for the public's help in locating 32-year-old Ryan Michael Homsley for a Federal probation violation warrant. Homsley is also wanted in connection with Monday afternoon's bank robbery in Southwest Portland.

Homsley was involved in bank robberies in 2010 and was given the nickname the "Where's Waldo Bandit" due to the clothing he wore during the robberies.

Homsley is believed to be the suspect in yesterday's bank robbery at the U.S. Bank branch located at 410 Southwest Harrison Street.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted bank employees who told police that the suspect used a demand note to obtain an undisclosed amount of money. After obtaining the cash, the suspect fled the area on foot towards Portland State University.

Officers conducted an extensive search of the area, including parts of the Portland State University campus but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.

Homsley is described as a white male, 5'9" tall, 156 pounds, dark-colored hair that is parted on one side, glasses, slight facial hair growth, dark-colored sports coat over a white shirt, and dark-colored pants.

Surveillance photos released to the public have assisted investigators in this case.

Anyone seeing Homsley should not approach him and should immediately call 9-1-1.

Anyone with non-emergency information about Homsely should contact Detective Brett Hawkinson at (503) 823-1080,; or the Portland office of the F.B.I. at (503) 224-4181.
