Driver Dies of Injuries Sustained in Crash Days Earlier

On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, North Precinct officers responded to the scene of a major crash in the 5300 block of NE Cornfoot Rd. The collision involved a single vehicle with a single occupant into a tree. The driver was transported to the hospital and appeared to be stable.

On Friday, July 29th, at 1900 hours, the driver died as a result of complications from injuries sustained in the collision combined with preexisting conditions.

This investigation is ongoing and TIU Investigator, Ofc Garrett Dow, is the lead on this crash. This is the 48th MCT activation and 38th traffic fatality for 2022 in the City of Portland.
