On Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 5:39 a.m., officers from the East Precinct were dispatched to a crash on Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 133rd Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the vehicle had hit a tree. As officers went to check the welfare of the driver and any occupants, they found a person outside of the vehicle who was deceased. The driver of that vehicle was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. Before hitting the tree, that vehicle also hit another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle remained at the scene.
Portland’s Major Crash Team (MCT) has responded and is assuming control of the investigation. While the MCT conducts this investigation, Southeast Start Street will be closed from Southeast 130th Avenue to Southeast 134th Avenue.
