UPDATE: Downtown Portland Homicide Victim Identified (Photo)

The victim is identified as Jonathan Dunbar, 39. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release. His family has not indicated interest in contact from the media.

The medical examiner determined the manner and cause of death to be homicide by gunshot.

The investigation is continuing. On 10/07/2022 at approximately 2:08 a.m. Officers from the Central Precinct and the Entertainment Detail responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Southwest 4th Avenue and Southwest Washington Street in Downtown Portland. Officers arrived and found an adult male deceased.

Detectives from the Homicide Detail and Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division responded to the scene. Southwest Washington Street will be closed for several hours between Southwest 2nd Avenue and SW 4th Avenue as investigators collect evidence.
