Man Deceased After Shooting In Madison South Neighborhood

On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 10:58 p.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to a shooting call in the 2600 block of Northeast 82 Avenue. Officers arrived to find an adult male who was injured by gunfire. Medical responded and began to treat the victim but he died at the scene. An adult male has been detained as part of the investigation.

The Portland Police Homicide Unit has responded to investigate. During the investigation, Northeast Russell Street will be closed from Northeast 82nd Avenue to Northeast 85th Avenue. The identity of the victim will be released after they are positively identified, the Medical Examiner has confirmed cause of death, and after family members have been notified.
