Protest at Downtown Post Office Leads to Seven Arrests

This afternoon, Tuesday October 29, 2013, at 12:51 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the Main Post Office, located at 715 NW Hoyt Street, on the report of a disturbance on the third floor.

Officers arrived and contacted several Postal Service employees and several protesters who were involved in a disturbance. Postal Service employees told police that the protesters were attempting to enter a secure area and were told to leave when a scuffle broke out between a Postal Inspector and one of the protesters.

The protest involves some labor issues at the Postal Service.

Officers arrested a total of seven protesters for Criminal Trespassing in the Second Degree.
