The victim in the June 20, 2022 homicide in the Roseway neighborhood is identified as McKeever W. Thompson III, 24, of Portland. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release. They are requesting privacy at this time.
The medical examiner determined the manner and cause of death was homicide by gunshot wound. The investigation is continuing. Death Investigation Becomes Homicide Investigation

Homicide Detectives have taken over an investigation after a man was found deceased in the Roseway Neighborhood.
On June 20, 2022 at 1:46p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3200 Block of Northeast 81st Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a deceased male. After a preliminary investigation, officers found the victim did not die from natural causes.
Portland’s Homicide Unit has responded to the scene. While detectives conduct this investigation, Northeast 81st Avenue will be closed from Northeast Siskiyou to Northeast Klickitat Street.
