The Portland Police Bureau's Traffic Investigations Unit is seeking the public's help to find information related to a vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run crash involving a pedestrian.
On October 26, 2022, at approximately 4:55 AM, 19-year-old Mekko (pronounced MEE-KO) Jackson was found deceased on North Interstate at North Graham Street after being struck by a hit and run driver. Mekko appeared to be crossing N Interstate Ave in a marked crosswalk near the MAX platform when he was struck.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The suspect vehicle is a green or teal 1993-1997 Ford Ranger "flareside."
Mekko's family shared a photo of him and a family member is willing to speak with media. Media should contact the Portland Police Public Information Officer for more information.
