November 06, 2013 23:00

The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help in solving a Centennial neighborhood hit and run to a pedestrian.

On Sunday October 27, 2013, at 8:34 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a pedestrian hit by a car on Southeast 148th Avenue, just south of Powell Boulevard.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, 19-year-old Kenton Lett, who was suffering from traumatic but not life-threatening injuries. Witnesses told police that the car that struck Lett fled the scene after the crash.

Lett was transported to a Portland hospital where he was treated for multiple facial and leg injuries. Lett also has Cerebral palsy and is now home recovering.

Preliminary information indicates Lett was walking along 148th Avenue northbound towards Powell Boulevard when he was struck by a northbound car driven by an unknown person. Witnesses told police that the car stopped momentarily then left the area northbound on 148th Avenue. There is not a sidewalk along 148th Avenue in the area of the crash, at Rhine Court.

The only vehicle description is a dark-colored older sedan, possibly an Oldsmobile or Buick.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and you can remain anonymous.
