On Tuesday November 19, 2013, at 4:00 a.m., East Precinct officers attempted to stop a white 1993 Chevy SUV at Northeast 102nd Avenue and Weidler Street. The driver did not stop and the vehicle sped away from officers northbound on 102nd Avenue.

Officers pursued the vehicle until it stopped and was stuck on the railroad tracks at Northeast 102nd Avenue and Killingsworth Street. The woman was identified as 30-year-old Ruby Tay Johnson.

A man and a woman got out of the car and ran westbound across the I-205 freeway. The woman was caught by officers on the Westside of I-205 but the man continued to run towards the Owens Illinois Glass Plant on Northeast Glass Plant Road.

At the glass plant, the man locked himself inside a bathroom and was eventually arrested after officers used a battering ram to open the door. The man was identified as 23-year-old Tyler Woods.

Woods was charged with Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Interfering with a Peace Officer, Criminal Trespass in the First Degree, and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree.

Johnson had a warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Woods and Johnson were booked into the Multnomah County Jail and will be arraigned on Wednesday.
