On December 31, 2013, off-duty Portland Police Bureau officer Homero Reynaga was arrested by the Tualatin Police Department on a charge of Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.

The arrest occurred after Tualatin Police responded to the report of a man vandalizing a neighbor's vehicle in the 6400 block of Southwest Nyberg Lane.

Reynaga was booked into the Clackamas County Jail.

Reynaga is a 15-year-veteran of the Portland Police Bureau and was previously assigned to Central Precinct.

Per Police Bureau policy, Reynaga has been placed on paid Administrative Leave and his police powers have been rescinded pending an internal investigation.

The Portland Police Bureau does not comment on personnel matters because it could interfere with the process of conducting a neutral, objective investigation and we must protect public employees' privacy interests consistent with the Oregon Public Records Law and relevant collective bargaining agreements.

Questions regarding the arrest and criminal charges should be directed to the Tualatin Police Department and the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office.
