UPDATE: Victim Identified in Shooting in the Foster Powell Neighborhood (Photo)

The victim of the March 23, 2023 homicide outside a bar in the Foster-Powell Neighborhood is identified as Ricco Giles, 36, of Portland. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release.

The medical examiner determined the manner and cause of death was homicide by gunshot.

A third shooting victim, a female, was discovered after being transported to a hospital by private vehicle. Her injuries were not life-threatening. Neither of the injured victims is being identified.

The Portland Police Homicide Unit continues its investigation into this case. A man is deceased and another injured after a shooting outside a bar in the Foster-Powell Neighborhood.

On Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:34p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting at a bar in the 7000 block of Southeast Foster Road. When they arrived they located a victim in the parking lot. Officers applied trauma first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived to take over advanced care. The adult male victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was treated. He later died at the hospital.

A short time later, another shooting victim, an adult male, arrived by private vehicle at a hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Officers responded and learned that he was also shot outside the bar.

No suspect or suspects were immediately located and no arrests have been made.

The Portland Police Homicide Unit is responding to the scene to investigate.
