This morning, Thursday February 27, 2014, at 9:38 a.m., North Precinct and Traffic Division officers responded to the report of a rollover crash on Northeast Marine Drive at 33rd Avenue.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and found a green Saturn sedan rolled down an embankment and two people outside the car. Medical personnel treated both for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned that the Saturn was a reported stolen so both adult occupants, a male and female, have been detained as the investigation continues.

Preliminary information indicates that the Saturn was traveling eastbound on Marine Drive in the westbound lanes and two oncoming vehicles swerved to avoid a collision. The two vehicles, a large box truck and an SUV, sideswiped the Saturn, which then hit a guardrail and rolled down the embankment.

Traffic on Marine Drive is getting through on one lane but will be reopened within 30 minutes after tow trucks respond and tow the SUV and the Saturn.
