This evening, Thursday February 27, 2014, at 8:35 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a traffic crash involving a semi-truck and a vehicle on Northeast Columbia Boulevard, just West of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Officers arrived and located the two vehicles and drivers at the scene. The driver of the vehicle has been transported to a Portland hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

The collision caused the semi-truck to crash into a power pole and knock down some power lines, resulting in an area power outage.

Preliminary information indicates that the vehicle was traveling eastbound and attempted to turn left into the McDonald's when it was struck by the westbound semi-truck.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors and tow trucks have been ordered.

Pacific Power & Light is responding to address the downed power pole and power lines.

Columbia Boulevard is expected to be closed for a few hours to allow for power crews to repair or replace the pole and power lines.
