The victim in this morning's shooting has been identified as 34-year-old Kyron Antonio Trevino. His injuries were not life threatening.

The person arrested on outstanding warrants, not connected to the shooting, is 26-year-old Alander Lavine Jacob. Jacob was booked into the Multnomah County Jail.

Gang Enforcement Team detectives are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information about this shooting to call (503) 823-4106.



This morning, Sunday March 16, 2014, at 2:07 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a gunshots heard at Southeast 92nd Avenue and Foster Road.

Officers arrived in the area and learned that a 34-year-old man was suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medical personnel responded and transported him to a Portland hospital for treatment.

Preliminary information indicates that there was some sort of disturbance inside the New Copper Penny Nightclub, located at 5932 Southeast 92nd Avenue, and a crowd of people involved in the disturbance came outside the club. Someone standing outside the club fired several rounds toward the crowd, striking the victim.

It is not known if the suspect victim was the intended target or if the shooter had been inside the nightclub.

The suspect is described as an African American male wearing dark-colored pants, a light-colored top, skinny build.

Several officers, including a Police K-9 Unit, searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.

Based on information obtained at the scene, officers requested the Gang Enforcement Team to respond and continue the investigation.

One male was arrested due to outstanding warrants, not in connection with the shooting.
