A man is in custody and has been charged in the June 23, 2023 shooting deaths of Fortressen Oriakhi and Isidahomen Ikhuoria.
On August 14, 2023, Portland Police Bureau Homicide Detectives, assisted by the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), and United States Marshal’s Service Fugitive Task Force, arrested 24-year-old Bennett Miller in Portland’s Mount Tabor Neighborhood. Miller was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center and lodged on the charges of Murder in the First Degree (2 counts), Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine).

He identified as Isidahomen Ikhuoria, 25, of Lagos, Nigeria. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release.
The medical examiner determined he died of homicide by gunshot wound.

One man is deceased, another seriously injured after a shooting and car crash in the Hollywood Neighborhood.
On Friday, June 23, 2023 at 2:33a.m., North Precinct officers were in the area of Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Northeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard when they heard gunfire nearby. Moments later the officers located a vehicle crashed into a pole near Northeast Broadway and Northeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard. Officers found the driver deceased and the passenger injured. Both had wounds consistent with gunshots. The passenger was transported by ambulance to the hospital with injuries that are life threatening.
No suspects were immediately located and no arrests have been made.
Portland Police Homicide Unit Detectives responded to the scene to investigate. During the investigation, Northeast Broadway, Northeast Sandy Boulevard, Northeast Halsey Street, and Northeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard are all blocked between about Northeast 38th Avenue and Northeast 42nd Avenues, Northeast Hancock Street to Northeast Senate Street.
