Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Tuesday Morning Arrest

A woman has been charged with attempted murder after an early Tuesday morning arrest.

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 9:16p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting outside of a convenience store in the 2800 block of North Williams Avenue. The victim, an adult female, 34 years old., was transported to the hospital. Her injuries were serious but not life threatening.

The suspect or suspects left the scene and no immediate arrests were made. Enhanced Community Safety Team detectives responded, as did the Focused Intervention Team and the Forensic Evidence Division.

On the morning of Tuesday, June 27, 2023, the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), along with ECST, served a warrant at a home in the 4800 block of Northeast 9th Avenue. Shawntyl Cherie Vance, 35, of Portland was arrested. She was interviewed by detectives and then booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
