UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged with Homicide (Photo)

A suspect has been arrested for this Centennial Neighborhood homicide and is facing several charges, including murder.

On the morning of August 9, 2023, officers attempted to contact a subject they believed was associated with a possibly stolen motorcycle, in the area of Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Division Street. The suspect fled on foot. Officers were eventually able to locate and arrest the suspect, after which they learned he was wanted in connection with a recent homicide. 24-year-old Kyle Duane Hague was interviewed by Portland Police Bureau Homicide Detectives then booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on one count each of Murder in the Second Degree, Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Firearm, Interference with a Public Safety Officer, and Escape in the Third Degree.

The victim in this homicide is identified as 33-year-old Brandon Lee Allen. The Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Allen’s manner and cause of death to be homicide by gunshot wound. Allen’s family has been notified of his death, and they have provided the attached photographs for public release. Family is requesting privacy at this time.

On Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 4:25 p.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of Southeast 174th Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man who was dead. No one has been detained and no arrests have been made.

The Portland Police Homicide detectives have responded to the scene to investigate. During the investigation, Southeast 174th Avenue will be closed from Southeast Main Street to Southeast Mill Street.

The identity of the victim will be released after the Medical Examiner has confirmed cause of death and after family members have been notified. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
