Portland’s Stolen Vehicle Operation continues to seize guns and arrest people driving stolen cars.
On August 16, 2023, members of East Precinct continued their string of successful Stolen Vehicle Operations. Portland partnered with Gresham Police and Port of Portland Police to look for stolen vehicles that were actively being driven. A Deputy District Attorney from the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office was also present for consultation.
In total, 13 stolen vehicles were recovered, 11 individuals were arrested, and 6 arrest warrants were serviced. Officers towed 11 vehicles and seized 2 firearms.
Members of East Precinct’s Neighborhood Response Team were again able to use community sourced information provided by the Facebook group PDX Stolen Cars. The information was used during the Stolen Vehicle Operation and was directly responsible for the recovery of 1 occupied and 2 unoccupied stolen vehicles.
