Dozens Arrested During Retail Theft Mission (Photo)

A weekend East Precinct retail theft mission resulted in almost two dozen arrests and the recovery of thousands of dollars in merchandise.

On August 18, 2023, Portland Police Bureau’s East Precinct Neighborhood Response Team (NRT) partnered with Multnomah County Transit, Multnomah County Prole and Probation, and the District Attorney’s Office to conduct a successful retail theft mission. Suspects were arrested at businesses from Mall 205 all the way to Gateway, in this wide-ranging mission. In total, 25 individuals were arrested, 16 felony and 15 misdemeanor warrants were serviced, 4 stolen vehicles were recovered, 3 firearms were found by officers, and $24,237 and illegal drugs were seized.

Charges ranged from Theft in the Third Degree to Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Delivery of a Controlled Substance. The list of individuals arrested and charged is below:

Ashley Padua, 29, was arrested and had four (4) warrants.

Gregory Walker, 42, was arrested and is charged with Interfering with a Peace Officer, Attempt to Elude on Foot, and a warrant.

Joshua Horn, 38, was arrested and charged with Theft in the Second Degree.

Brent Moore, 50, is charged with Theft in the Third Degree and Violating a Restraining Order (3 Counts).

Ashlyn Anderson, 33, had two (2) warrants out for her arrest. She was taken into custody.

Jessie Aylward, 27, is charged with Theft in the Third Degree.

Daniel Thomas III, 45, was arrested and a detainer was issued by his parole officer.

Courtney Johnson, 32, is charged with Robbery in the Third Degree.

Ashley Fackler, 39, was arrested and is charged with Theft in the Second Degree. Fackler also had five (5) warrants for her arrest.

Melody Kearney, 40, was arrested and is charged with Theft in the Second Degree.

Christopher Dille, 26, was charged with Attempt to Elude in a Vehicle, Attempt to Elude on Foot, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering (20 Counts), and Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Hit & Run).

Corey Fuselier, 33, was arrested and is charged with Theft in the Third Degree. He also had three (3) arrest warrants.

Demarcus Rogers, 39, was arrested and is charged with Theft in the Second Degree. He had two (2) warrants out for his arrest.

James Brittle, 42, is charged with Burglary in the Second Degree. A detainer was also put on Brittle.

Ryan Atkins, 51, had two warrants out for his arrest. He was taken into custody.

Brian Millett, 31, was arrested and is charged with two (2) counts of Theft in Second Degree for two different cases.

Jonathan Hanna, 35, was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Unauthorized Entry into a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, Attempt to Elude in a Vehicle, Attempt to Elude on Foot, and Escape in the Third Degree.

Jeremiah Smith, 25, was arrested and is charged with Theft in the Third Degree, Interfering with a Peace Officer, ID Theft (2 Counts), and on an outstanding warrant.

Corey Grieg, 24, is charged with Robbery in the Second Degree.

Sam Montoya, 43, was in possession of two guns, illegal narcotics, and a large amount of cash. Montoya was arrested and is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2 Counts), Altered ID on a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public (2 Counts), Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Delivery of Oxycodone. Montoya also had a warrant for Failure to Appear on Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth).

Three (3) additional arrests were made by Multnomah County. The names will be updated in this press release if they become available.
