Multi-Agency Mission Yields Stolen Vehicles, Arrests (Photo)

On Saturday, September 23, 2023, members of East Precinct conducted a Stolen Vehicle Operation (SVO) in and around Portland International Airport. As part of an ongoing effort to partner with other agencies, PPB members teamed up with Port of Portland Police, Gresham Police, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, and Multnomah County Parole and Probation.

The team recovered one stolen vehicle for every two stops. In total, 20 traffic stops were initiated, 11 stolen vehicles were recovered, and eight individuals were arrested, including one person wanted on weapons charges by U.S. Marshals. Officers towed nine vehicles.

One of the vehicles recovered during the SVO was stolen during the carjacking of a local chef on the evening of September 14, 2023. Officers arrested two juveniles connected to that stolen vehicle.
