Central Precinct officers located and arrested a suspect in a stabbing in the Multnomah Neighborhood.

On Friday, September 29, 2023, at approximately 8:20a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to a local hospital to investigate a stabbing. Officers learned a woman was in the laundry room of her apartment complex in the 2900 block of Southwest Dolph Court when an unknown male stabbed her. The woman fought her attacker, suffering some additional injuries in the process. The suspect fled the scene. The victim flagged down a passerby who took her to the hospital where she was treated and later released.

Officers gathered a suspect description and broadcasted the information. Officers searching the area located a man who matched the description at a gas station in the 9000 block of Southwest Barbur Boulevard. Isaac L. Woodward, 44, was taken into custody and officers seized two knives as evidence. Portland Police detectives responded and interviewed the suspect. Friday evening, Woodward was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Assault in the Second Degree.
