Bridgeton Neighborhood Robbery Investigation Ends with Suspects Charged

Two suspects are facing felony robbery and other charges after a multi-week investigation and service of a search warrant in the Bridgeton Neighborhood.

On Tuesday, October 11, 2023 at 10:30p.m., a North Precinct officer responded to a robbery call. The victim was no longer at the suspect location, and contact was made by phone. The officer learned that at about 12:00p that day, the victim was assaulted and robbed with a metal rod and threatened with a knife. The crime involved known suspects at an apartment in the 1400 block of North Pier 99 Street.

The Major Crimes Unit assigned a detective to the case, who did follow up investigation and applied for arrest and search warrants for one of the suspects and the apartment. This morning, November 3, 2023, Major Crimes, assisted by the Special Emergency Reaction Team and the Crisis Negotiation Team, served the arrest warrant and search warrant at the apartment.

Misty B. Martz, 45, of Portland, was arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC) on her warrant for Robbery in the First Degree, Robbery in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Misty Martz’s nephew, Randall D. Martz, 25, of Portland, was already in custody of MCDC on unrelated charges. Charges were added for Robbery in the First Degree, Robbery in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The investigation is continuing.
