UPDATE - Piedmont Neighborhood Gang Shooting Critically Injures One Man

The man injured in Sunday evening's shooting has been identified as 24-year-old Robert Dimitri Sabb. Sabb remains hospitalized with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Sabb was seated on the front porch of an area residence when the suspect ran up, started shooting at Sabb, then ran away.

The shooting is believed to be gang-related and anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Gang Enforcement Team at (503) 823-4106.



This evening, Sunday May 11, 2014, at 9:17 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the 6600 block of North Borthwick Avenue on the report of a shooting with one person hit by gunfire.

Officers arrived in the area and located a male adult suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel arrived and transported the man to a Portland hospital with critical injuries.

At this point, there is no suspect information.

Investigators from the Gang Enforcement Team are responding as this shooting is believed to be gang-related.

The Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team and Gun Task Force are continuing to actively investigate gang and gun crimes in the City of Portland.
