A weeks-long burglary investigation resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of dozens of stolen laptops.

In late August of this year, North Precinct officers responded to reports of a burglary at a business in the 3700 block of North Mississippi Avenue. Officers determined a tablet and laptop were stolen. Over the course of the next two months, officers responded to several other burglaries at businesses in the 3000 and 4000 blocks of North Mississippi Avenue. Officers determined dozens of electronics were stolen during the burglaries.

Through their work with the impacted Boise Neighborhood businesses, officers were able to identify a suspect. On December 18, 2023, North Precinct officers, with the assistance of the Portland Police Bureau’s Special Emergency Reaction Team and Neighborhood Response Team, executed a search warrant at a home in the 8700 block of North Delaware Avenue. Through the course of gathering evidence, officers recovered more than 120 laptops.

Officers arrested Kevin D. Williams, 51, of Portland, and booked him into the Multnomah County Detention Center on four counts of Burglary in the Second Degree.

This case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives by emailing crimetips@police.portlandoregon.gov and referencing case number 23-290763.
