On Wednesday June 18, 2014, investigators from the Gang Enforcement Team (GET) arrested 20-year-old Maximilliano Rigo Resendiz-Thompson in connection with a stabbing that injured a 13-year-old girl.

The investigation began on May 25, 2014, when East Precinct officers responded to Portland Adventist Medical Center on the report of a walk-in stabbing victim.

Officers contacted the victim, a 13-year-old girl, who told police that she'd been at a party at a home at Southeast 138th Avenue and Stark Street, when she was punched in the face stabbed in the back by a man at the party during a scuffle. Her injuries were not life-threatening.

GET detectives gathered information and developed probable cause to arrest Resendiz-Thompson, a known gang member, for the stabbing. He was arrested without incident at his residence in the 100 block of Southeast 172nd Avenue in Gresham.

Resendiz-Thompson was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Assault in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
