Major Crash Team Activated for Pedestrian Hit and Run Fatality

On 12/25/2023 at approximately 12:19 a.m. an off-duty Portland Police Officer came across a pedestrian hit and run crash on Southeast Stark Street at Southeast 106th Avenue. The driver involved in the crash left the scene.

The off-duty officer called 911 and provided aid to the victim. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance but was later declared deceased.

The Major Crash Team has been activated to respond to the scene to take over the investigation. Southeast Stark Street will be closed at Southeast 106th Avenue for several hours as Traffic Officers from the Major Crash Team and Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division process the scene and collect evidence.
