Pedestrian Dies After Hit and Run. Major Crash Team Responding

On Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 5:10 p.m., officers from the East Precinct were dispatched to a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the 1500 block of Southeast 122nd Avenue. Initial reports were that the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. A second vehicle was reported to have also hit the person and that vehicle remained at the scene.

This incident occurred in front of Portland Fire and Rescue Station Seven, which allowed paramedics to arrive quickly, but the pedestrian died at the scene.

The Major Crash Team (MCT) has responded to the scene and is assuming control of the investigation. All lanes of Southeast 122nd Avenue will be closed from Southeast Main Street to Southeast Market Street while investigators process the scene and collect evidence.
